REQUESTING EARLY ARRIVAL

  1. I am already living on campus and have a contract until 9.30am, 2 September 2024:

If you hold a campus room until 9.30am, 2 September 2024 and have also secured a room from 22 September 2024, you do not need to complete an Early Arrival request.  You can remain on campus for the interim period between 2 September 2024 and 22 September 2024. Please note that you may be required to move to a temporary room during this period if necessary. The nightly charges for this additional interim period will be invoiced in October 2024.

  1. I am arriving before 27 August 2024:

If you need to arrive before Tuesday 27 August 2024, you must apply for Summer accommodation until 2nd September 2024.  After this date, the process in point 1 will apply and an Early Arrival request will not be required. For more information please read 'How can I apply for summer accommodation?'. Summer accommodation bookings can be made here: Summer Lets | Brunel University London.

  1. I am arriving between 27 August and 21 September 2024:

If you have accepted your Licence Agreement 2024/25 online, paid your 2024/25 accommodation pre-payment (deposit) and have a need to arrive earlier than your Licence Agreement start date you can request to collect your keys and move in to your accommodation early, subject to room availability.  Payment will be required in advance to confirm your booking:

  • If you need to arrive from Tuesday 27 August 2024 onwards please submit an Early Arrival Enquiry Form at least 7 days before your expected early arrival date.
  • The Student Living team will then review your request and check room availability. If we can accommodate your request, you will be asked to book and pay for your early arrival online via the Student Living Hub (within 48 hours)
  • Deadline missed: Late arrival requests cannot be submitted after Sunday 15 September 2024.  You will need to make your own arrangements for accommodation before your main contract starts. The Student Living team will only consider requests by email to bca@brunel.ac.uk where there are exceptional circumstances.

Charges for this period will be at the relevant room nightly rate for the 2024/25 academic year.  These non-refundable charges are payable at the time of booking. Once the booking is complete you will be charged for those days whether you move in to your room or not, as arrangements will have already been made for your room to be cleaned and made ready for your early arrival.

Please note:

  • We cannot guarantee that your term-time room will be available for your early arrival. However, you may be offered a temporary room and asked to move to your permanent location once your room is ready. Please ensure that you are available and ready to move to your permanent location. The Student Living representative will be in contact with you to confirm the day you will be required to move. For housekeeping reasons, you will be required to move out of your temporary room by 9.30am on the requested day.
  • Because you will be arriving before the actual contract start date, you may be the only occupant of the flat until your flatmates move in on arrival day when all student term-time contracts begin. Also, please note that in order to facilitate your early arrival, your room will have been cleaned, the communal areas of the flat (e.g. kitchen/bathrooms if it is a standard hall) may still require cleaning and you may experience some inconvenience and disruption during this time due to unavoidable maintenance being carried out in halls.
  • During this period some of the rooms/flats will be used for University open day viewings and residents may experience some disturbance during this time.
  • Wired internet access may not be available during your early arrival booking period.

For further information about your accommodation booking, please refer to the Halls Code of Conduct, Information and Policies or email the Allocations Team at bca@brunel.ac.uk.
